Well, it is

Back in early 2000s (previous generation of 3 series, E46) coupe and sedan were pretty much identical, except for a few minor things
Now It's totally different chasis
Sedan is still sitting on E90 body which came out in 2005, where the coupe is new improved platform that was born in 2007

Looks like for the very first time in BMW 3 series coupes and sedans are riding on the different chasis
