Power on the M6 is actually quite impressive.  It's 500+HP so it has a lot of punch.  I would say it's on par with an F430 when it is in full M mode.  Of course, whether you can figure out how to get it into full M mode is the real question.  I kind of want to take a video of the M6 so I can show everyone what I mean when I say there's this delay or lag or something when it switches gears.  Best way I can explain it is: When your M35/45 switches gears the tach goes from say 3,500 rpm to 2,000 rpm and instantly tries to rev up the RPM.  Now imagine you hit the accelerator, it goes to 3,500 rpm (or more like 4,500 on the M6) and then clicks down to 2,000 ready to rev up again.  But now, it goes to 2,000 and even if you are standing on the pedal nothing happens for the amount of time you can say "One one thous. . . (you can't get in the "and")".  Then it clicks into gear and starts pulling again.  That's what this SMG is like.  When you hit the "M" button and the thing goes into exotic mode, it's much less time but it's disconcerting to say the least.  I'll just have to fiddle with it I guess.  I'll get it right at some point.

I've heard that a lot of people avoided the M-DCT on the M3 for this reason, but I understand that the DCT on the M3 is almost instantaneous and is an awesome transmission.  I'm sure you can get your hands on one to compare!  Grin
