As you may know already, the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was revealed last week at the New York Auto Show but this wasn’t the only surprise from Chrysler…

The American manufacturer revealed the first sketch of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. We have to say it looks really impressive but what is very interesting is the 6.4-liter crate HEMI engine that will generate between 505-525 hp and 510 ft-lbs of torque (690 Nm). The new high performance SUV will also receive a new body kit, sportier suspension, and SRT 5-spoke wheels. Photo after the jump!

The engine definitely caught my eye. Wonder if it'll move to the Charger / Challenger.

The sketch doesn't look to be too far from reality. Add scoop, lowered ride, wheels and fender flares to this.

Very true. Hopefully Chrysler makes it long enough for the new jeep to come out. The look is starting to grow on me. Does look a bit sillly with the ride height cranked all the way up, but i'd imagine that would be useful for actual offroading

scoop looks dumb, and ride height is adjustable on the regular GC... nothing too exciting other than the rendering has some HUGE wheels... and the hp is just nuts!
