You know the problem with this car is that it's a Jaguar. I know they are ranked like 2nd or something in a recent survey thing but I got my deposit back because I read this Car and Driver 40,000 mile review that scared the hell out of me. Was for a 2007 XK convertible. The list of little things that went wrong with this car wouldve driven me insane. Doors that sporadically unlock, engines that don't recognize the key. Wood pieces coming totally off the dash (wtf?!?). LCD Screens that you can't read. Seats that got worn and torn. Trim pieces that came loose. Rattles in the dash and squeeks in the seats. Various software issues. In fact, the article was pretty good about saying it was still a very nice looking car but guys, can you imagine how mad you'd be when those things started happening to you? My M45 (knocks on wood) has had zero defects. Yeah it's only been 10,000 miles but that's how I want my daily driver to act. Heck, the three Lexus's I've had also had zero defects (not including the driver, heh). That being said, this car looks real nice. I like the redone grill. My only beef with the current model is it looks a little too Buick like.
I agree with all the jaguar brand perception issues they have to overcome. I HOPE this car helps them through it. They have publically stated this is the car that will make or break them. I think they realized the error of their ways and got past it. Only time will tell, of course.
PS - I agree, the front end is very buick-y due to the headlight/grille combo. It's bizarre. The Concept was much nicer but they didn't bring the same frontend to market due to 'cost issues' around the headlights (per an article I read ages ago)
