Many cars nowadays have some kind of voice recognition system used to control navigation, climate controls, audio, etc.
What I want is VR cruise control. I use cruise all the time (literally) and it's mainly because I want to fly just under the radar .. like maybe 3-4 mph over the posted limit, or 5 or 6 on the open highway. I make a little better time and don't generally attract any police attention that way.
But setting the cruise to the exact speed can sometimes be a little distracting, as you watch the speedo, then add a couple mph, then maybe one more, then a slight rise slows you a little, so you stare at the speedo again as you get just the right speed, then *bang*, you set it.
Wouldn't it be much easier to just push the "VOICE" button on the steering wheel and say "Cruise - 63"? I can't see any reason it would be a safety concern, since you can't accidentally set it, and after all, you're able to set it without taking your eyes off the road.
(Should I file for a patent for this?
