Fully loaded Chevy Colorado Crewcab Z71 - $31,221
Equivalently equipped Hummer H3T - $42,925

And that Z71 includes leather, sunroof, all the amenities but also the locking diffs, skidplates, 5.3l V8, offroad suspension, etc...  Mechanically and functionally, its pretty much a match for the H3T.  When you really break it down, why would you want to spend the extra $11k other than to say you have a Hummer?  What do you get for it?  That money goes a long way towards your gear and mods to for serious offroading.

you can buy a V8 jeep for less than 30k and put aftermarket rims and 33" tires on it, and it would have just as much capability.

it doesn't matter if in your opinion you can find a better deal in a pick up or jeep.  The point is that the Hummer is a good off roader,  despite the hate.

so you'd be okay with paying more for an okay wine in a cooler package than a better cheaper wine? Wink

I'm not saying I would pay for it, but I can understand people who would.  An H2 is an statement, H3 is a much more tougher looking than the rounded up, cutesy style Jeeps of late.  Lots of aftermarket things for Hummer etc., it's all about the little details, man.  I'm all for choice, the more the merrier.  I'm sad Hummer should go because, as stated in the opening post, Obama will like helping GM better.  To hell with that way of thinking.  Just because it's not my choice, does not mean I like to see it go.  Next time, it can be my turn.

And if you're worried about reliability, there's an option!  You can get a JDM Honda Crossroad and convert it to a "Hummer H4."
