I didn't even realize that Lancia still existed. When I was a young lad one of my high school buddies drove around a fulvia for a while. At least I think it was a fulvia. I seem to recall thinking it was pretty cool at the time.

Sadly, the car is a pet project of a wealthy collector, and not something that’ll be appearing in your local Fiat dealership any time soon.
So, are you the "wealthy collector" RH?

Ha, I wish!
Lancia Stratos, designed by Bertone is for me one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Light, with a Ferrari 246GT Dino engine, ultra short wheel base, built just to be homologated for WRC, it dominated dominated the WC for 3 years, winning the Monte Carlo Rally. It was the era of the crazy "Group 4" cars, all out racing, no compromise. I think only 500 were built, the road going version was only 190HP, but at 2000LBs it had crazy acceleration <5s and top speed of 145mph. The competition version had a turbo and it was run at 550-600HP...CRAZY. It did 0-60 in 3 sec on gravel - with proper tires of course as usual.
The most distinctive feature was the steering: great feedback, heavy but naturally weighted and CRAZY FAST direction changes (for tight U turns). This thing could turn on a dime at 120mph...stability at speed was practically nil by design and that was pretty addictive -- the chassis engineer was somebody called Gianpaolo Dallara, you know, who later founded and now own Dallara Automobile, the chassis builder for F1, F2, F3, Indy Car racing, Le Mans Series, etc.

I had a big poster of the Stratos when I was a kid. What a beauty.

Well RH, I guess you can get your dream car after all. All you need is the kit, a motor, .....and a hammer.

Thanks Turbo, yeah, I knew about the kit car, the video, but not the second one. Awesome clips. And yep, I agree 100%, one of the best cars ever built.
It is gorgeous, isn't it? I mean, look at the red one...ohhh.
