Actually, there are some systems in the works that generate a piezo-electric charge when the wheel spins and even one that generates a piezo current just from the air pressure itself. That last one works on a crystal that exudes electrons when squeezed, but so far it will only tell you that a tire has lost its pressure ... not give you a readout. Neither of these is currently available for use in mass-market cars.

As far as any that charge the internal batteries ... nope.

Our Odyssey also has a similar display, but it is consistenly off by about 2 psi.


just to vouch...  Its extrememly accurate.  I check my new tires by hand now since they're filled with air and not nitrogen, and they can vary frequently.  I've noticed that the readout is 99.99% spot on with my digi guage.
