The "Eco" in the "ecoboost" name killed  it for me.  What does that mean?  It boosts the ecology or the environment?  Does it seeds the soil as it goes or actively purifies air around somehow?  Otherwise what does it actively boost?  If anything it boosts HP...

What's wrong with twin turbo?  I think there was a Taurus a couple years ago with a silly renaming like that.  Double Energy?  Don't recall what was it. 

What's next?  Mustang Ecoboost?  Yeah, that will sell a lot.   Maybe their marketing genius will call a two door pickup a coupe too...hey, it's two doors!   


Having said that, I'd love to see more non-diesel trucks and big SUVs with turbo.  But they should aim for performance and stick to V-8s, IMHO. 

And even better news is that they ganked the brains behind volvo who have been building turbos for years to head up the project.  I totally agree that the marketing is way off.  Keep the "ecoboost" on the fiesta and focus.  With these numbers its pretty equal to the new 5.0 which will probably keep it out of the Mustang, at least without de-tuning.
