What you're missing is the year or two its going to take for the M50 to come out.   That would rectify your engine and transmission concerns.  The exterior style aspect may be a bit hit or miss.

Funny.. you think like me (kind of). I Like the LS460 style a lot, but I want something that handles more M-like (hence my choice of M rather than GS). I am sure i could get near-m-like-handling in the LS for some serious cash, but i dont have it.

The S5 is a great looking car, but lacks some of the stuff I'd want in a car of that price... The small gas tank and lack of XM are the biggest deal breakers for me. I am still mulling over the IS-F but the residuals are disappointing to say the least. Will see what happens with the FX when it FINALLY hits showrooms. I am hoping I like it but for some reason think i'll be disappointed..

Next option is to go to the G35, which would suck even more if they release the G37 sedan at the end of the year.. Argh!

But back to the original post.... if you seriously want a 7spd trans, and sporty brakes, your choices are really limited.  I think you will be looking at Lexus and MB... what other options do you have if you were shopping tomorrow?
