2009 Acura RDX Remote All Window Down Feature
«

Hi I'm new to the forum. I just want to know if anybody out there knows why Acura didn't put that feature on the RDX. I don't have a 2009, I just bought a new 2008 and it doesn't come with the feature. Acura advertises the feature on their website for the 2009 RDX but I've found out through some other forums that it isn't so. An owner of a 2009 contacted Acura and was told that the website mistake was a typo and that the feature will not be offered on the 2009 RDX, any truth in that statement?

I never heard anything about it, but it must be true if Acura told them
it won't be offered on the RDX. I'll see if I can find anything about it.

I can't answer your question, but just as an editorial note, I think this is a chintzy move many automakers use.
For example, we rented a Pontiac Grand Prix in Hawaii week before last, and it had auto down, but no auto up. WTF?
So when we left the hotel garage, I had to hold the button in the up position to raise the window while trying to negotiate the wild twisting blind curves in the garage and dodge other cars coming up. Sheesh.
So, if they can use an auto switch to LOWER the window, how hard (or expensive) can it be to make the switch work in the opposite direction? I say very darn little, but they will reserve that little perk for people buying slightly more expensive cars. IOW, it's a carrot they dangle to make their more expensive cars look more attractive.

Yeah, I believe the same thing. How hard can it be, while yes, it may raise the price of the vehicle to add these features on, but COME ON.. we are talking about an Acura, it has all the other bells and whistles standard. How did they leave off the remote window down? That's just dumb.

Give our friends at KpTechnologies (

) a look. They might have a module for your car.....

The only thing I seen on the Acura website was that the front windows
are auto up/down only. But it still say's that the remote will open the
windows and the moonroof. I can't figure out why they don't change
this on the website if the car does not have this feature.

0r how american cars have it only on the driver window seems silly to me. Now that I have it I don't know if I can go back!

One of the updates to the 2009 IS-F (vs the 2008) is this hilarious "window acceleration gauge/control", it basically makes the window go slow for the first 1/4 or so down, then fast the rest of the way, and then slow the last 1/4 down. Similar when rolling up. Mine (2008) are just super fast up/down in one swoop.

Well its a nice feature to have if you like to leave your windows open a crack. The Audi goes fast down/up, and its really hard to leave it open just enough to let air out, but not enough so people can reach in, or use like a hanger to unlock doors...

I figure most or all of the other acura models have it since most are designed and built in and for Japan. But I believe the RDX was designed for the US markent and is built in Ohio, hence it doesn't carry the features one would come to expect from Acura(Honda). Does the TL have the remote window down feature?

The TL has the remote window down feature. The Accord EX has it also.
I don't get why the RDX does not have it being an Acura.
