did some research, since you raised some good questions. Looks like the rebates for Audi (like Infiniti) are loyalty type rebates... only thing they're doing is financing, and those are nothing special.
looks like it would end up around 52-54k WITH a deal. Thats my M35 before price, lol.

Hyundai... $39k all options with the V8. Similar gas mileage and better hp/tq. It will be all in the test drive if it comes to hyundai.

Another option in that range is the XF... is it even worth discussing?

Hey, it's a damn nice looking machine and its got a twisty thing instead of a stick. I think it was rated by JD Price as the most reliable after a Buick. Now a guy really (I'm not there yet) my age might be thinking Buick/Jag. You..?

Personally I like the nissan/infiniti nav over the toyota ones...... by a long shot! The audi and BMW fail to impress me at all...

Kind of. I personally only liked the XF-S, but there are two other trims out there. They are pretty aggressively discounting them now too. The base trims come with quite a few less options than the loaded -S, but are still nice cars. I personally don't like the wheels, etc, on the base model though... but it's probably definitely worth taking a look at. The only negative thing that i've seen is jag dealers are few and far between. Infiniti, Hyundai, etc, are pretty much everywhere.
The one thing I really like about the jag that you cant get in the lexus, infinit, or hyundai(?) is the 60/40 rear folding seat..

The CTS has a really nicely done interior; but the exterior quality of the car is so appalling that I cannot even recommend he look at one. ... whether he does or not is another question.
If you aren't a "perfectionist", and don't mind body panels that don't even REMOTELY align, paint drips on a lot of the edges of the car, etc....... then it's definitely a car worth considering.
I'd also question the durability of the interior. It "looks" nice, but based on the way the exterior of the car is assembled I can only assume the poor quality extends to the inside.
I was very, very disappointed with the CTS during my car shopping because I thought it was going to be a serious competitor.. but apparently my standards are a little too high; you know, straight body lines and properly fitting fascia!

the fit and finish was pretty damn nice... I sat in a few a couple weeks ago at the dealer (not for me) I really liked the interior, solid car man.
only thing that I don't care for is the headlight. It reminds me of an acura RSX - nothing wrong with the rsx...but wish the jag had a different headlight design...

I would never buy a new Jag, I don't care how cool it looks in a dealership. You still have to live with the thing. Since when has india known how to make cars? Luxury cars at that...?

To your point about making cars in India:
"The Indian small car market is the second-biggest in the world after Japan and the industry shipped 100,000 units last fiscal."
"India has become the fastest growing automobile manufacturer amongst the top 20 car making countries of the world..."
"The automobile industry in India—the tenth largest in the world with an annual production of approximately 2 million units—is expected to become one of the major global automotive industries in the coming years."
Hindustan Motors of India has been manufacturing cars since '42....
