New FX causes speeding?

Okay - maybe not "causes" but "instigates"? Smiley

So I get home the other night to find two ominous envelopes from the State of Michigan waiting for me in the mail. One was from the Department of State, and I immediately recognized it as being from the Secretary of State, Michigan's equivalent of a Motor Vehicle Bureau. And I immediately knew what the envelope contained: a tsk, tsk letter from the Office of Traffic Safety bitching that I have too many points on my license.

I know how he feels.  In my lowly 35 I have taken a few long trips and looked down to realize I'm doing over 100 mph on four lane freeways.  Passing power is excellent and cruising is smooth.  I should have told the cop on my last ticket that it wasn't my fault.

My M gives a good amount of road noise/feedback so I always have a pretty good idea of how fast I "truly" am going. Its been so long since I had my FX that I don't remember exactly how it felt Sad

I DO remember the IS-F I recently drove, and thinking "wow.. if I got tickets in the M..". The -F you can barely even tell you're doing 100 vs 50. It's kind of scary.

In town I like to listen to the car but on the highway the stereo tends to be a little on the high side.  I don't notice the road noise at all.  Then again I could be going deaf.

Sad fact:

Whenever i'm around a G/FX I turn my stereo way down and crack the windows slightly just to hear the exhaust note.
As a pedestrian I can normally hear a G/FX coming from a mile away.. Wink
