Infiniti announced "official" pricing for the 2009 FX:
PRESS RELEASE
Infiniti Announces Pricing on 2009 FX50 and FX35
NASHVILLE (June 6, 2008) - Infiniti today announced pricing on the all-new 2009 Infiniti FX luxury crossover SUV, which goes on sale June 24 at Infiniti retailers in the United States and Canada. The all-new FX is a showcase of Infiniti's design and technology leadership, offering exceptional levels of power, refinement, versatility and driving exhilaration.
The 2009 Infiniti FX is available in three models: FX50 AWD with a new 390-horsepower 5.0-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 engine Variable Valve Event & Lift (VVEL), and the FX35 AWD and FX35 RWD with a 303-horsepower 24-valve DOHC 3.5-liter V6. Each engine is paired with a new, standard 7-speed automatic transmission featuring Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) and available solid magnesium paddle shifters.
The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)* of each model is:
- $40,950 for the FX35 RWD
- $42,350 for the FX35 AWD
- $56,700 for the FX50 AWD
Along with an aerodynamic, rigid yet lightweight body structure and sporty FM platform, the new FX features an extensive list of available equipment and technology, including available Continuous Damping Control (CDC), Rear Active Steer, Intelligent Brake Assist and 21-inch super lightweight aluminum-alloy wheels designed by Enkei.
Inside, the new FX interior provides a warm, modern, inviting environment highlighted by a driver-oriented cockpit with intuitive controls, available sport seating and advanced audio, navigation and technology - ranging from an 11-speaker Bose-developed audio system to Infiniti Intelligent Key, available Intelligent Cruise Control (Full Speed Range) and available Around View Monitor system.
The new FX offers an industry-first safety technology - Distance Control Assist (DCA), which reduces the burden of driving in heavy traffic by intuitively helping to release the throttle and apply the brakes to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. Also available is Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA), which provides forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, along with a Lane Departure Warning/Lane Departure Prevention system, which helps keep the vehicle in its travel lane.
2009 Infiniti FX equipment packages include the Technology Package, Infiniti Mobile Entertainment Package, Premium Package, Navigation Package, Deluxe Touring Package, Sport Package and 21-inch Summer Tires.
"The new Infiniti FX is a technology tour de force, with a number of advanced systems designed to enhance the driving experience," said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "With its newly designed 5.0-liter V8, the new FX50 model is one of the most exciting performers in its class, while the FX35 continues to offer a unique balance of style, luxury, utility and driving pleasure."
Infiniti offers a full-line of luxury performance automobiles, including the G sports coupe and sedan, the M luxury performance sedan, FX premium crossover SUV, QX full-size luxury SUV, and the EX personal luxury crossover. More information about Infiniti and its Total Ownership Experience can be found at Infiniti.com.

Looks like i'd be looking at $56,700 for Base FX50 + Technology package at $2,900 and Sport Package at $3,000 for a grand total of $62,600. Ouch!
Not the pricing I was hoping for. I was really expecting it to top out at $60K.
I realize it's still less expensive than competitors, but the last gen FX was a pretty capable performer (although lacked in interior quality) and had a much bigger price difference than its rivals.

I am wondering if the dealers are going to demand MSRP for a while as they did for the M's, or if they are going to realize this is really NOT the best time to be debuting a (fairly) gas hungry "SUV" and offer some incentives?

Probably why dealers have been so mum on everything. Not really a great market to be introducing the FX like it was in 2003.

That was my guess too. I think Infiniti probably waited on releasing prices due to the poor market state right now. I'm betting they had intended offering the FX at a higher price but backed off a bit. Not to say it's cheap by any standards, still.

The pricing might seem a little high but I'm wondering where they are going to peg it up here in Canada. I'm sure they will tack 8 - 10 grand on those prices even though the Cdn dollar is at par.

well there IS a 2000 infiniti owner loyalty rebate right now... BAM you're at 60.2k
I'd guess it won't take long before you can talk them down to close to invoice on these.

Yeah, resales on the 1st gen FX are going to tank, much like the G35's did in the last 2 years.

It was advertised on the TV the other day, as well as I read it on G35driver. 2k rebate for infiniti owners.

Apparently Edmunds aren't too impressed with the "Price Hike" either.
NASHVILLE, Tennessee — In a huge down market for SUV sales, Infiniti has raised prices across the board on its redesigned 2009 FX50 and FX35. The 2009 Infiniti FX50 all-wheel-drive model starts at $57,515, including a $815 destination charge — $6,600 more than the outgoing 2008 FX45 with the smaller 4.5-liter engine.
The 2009 Infiniti FX35 and 2009 Infiniti FX50 go on sale on June 24.
Infiniti said the base price for the rear-wheel-drive version of the 2009 FX35 starts at $41,765, including shipping. That is a $2,900 increase over the comparable 2008 FX35, which started at $38,865.
The 2009 Infiniti FX35 with all-wheel drive has a starting price of $43,165, including shipping. That reflects a $2,800 increase over the comparable 2008 FX35, which started at $40,365.
The 2009 FX50 AWD gets a 390-horsepower 5.0-liter DOHC V8 linked to a new standard seven-speed automatic transmission. The 2009 FX35 models get a 303-horsepower DOHC 3.5-liter V6 linked to the new standard seven-speed automatic transmission.

"Kicking Tires" does not seem to be too impressed with the price hikes, either:
We recently got to drive the all-new 2009 Infiniti FX35, and we came away impressed. We’re not sure how impressed we would have been if we knew Infiniti was planning to raise the prices $2,900 for the rear-wheel-drive FX35, $2,800 for the all-wheel-drive FX35 and $6,600 for the range-topping all-wheel-drive FX50. They go on sale June 24.

Original post modified to include two PDF's from Infiniti. Things of interest (to me):
FX50 PIO:
AERO KIT
?? $2070 <-- Anyone? Details? Please?
Glass Breakage Sensor $135
I can't believe the illuminated kickplates are an option on a loaded FX50, either.. I know some people dont like them, but it should be an option to order without.. or just disable the lights (can we say MENUs, anyone?!
