Boy, they softened THAT thing up!  Shocked

Maybe this is just a concept that won't come to life.

^ are you inferring that it looks like a Lexus from the rear?

Yeah, the rear looks like a LS460 to me.

The gearshift looks horrible, though.  The housing for the rear screens looks terrible...a shop wouldn't get away with that.  It would be much better on the headrests, or at least if they followed the lines on the seats, and did not look so bulky.   Looks like a CRT, like those used in those NY taxis...

But I guess they want to be different.

As an enthusiast, I don't see why I'd ever want a 7 series over a M3 or M5 if I was in the market for a vehicle at that price point.  Other than being their tech showboat, seems like the softest vehicle in their lineup.

Of course, people say the same thing about the Lexus LS, but when you get a few more years on you, you come to appreciate the finer things in life ... which include a more luxurious ride, better toys, and less-austere appointments (aka, a "softer" car).

I've had a number of harder-edged cars in my day, but I've gotten over the desire to have another one. I'd personally take a 7 over an M5 any day. Sure, the M can beat me in a race or on the twisties, but ... I don't even care.

This is true.  God willing, I'll be dead by then. Tongue

when the LS460 came out I thought it "copied" the rear lines (Trunk, lights) of the BMW 7 (if you looked at side profile)... now it looks like the BMW is taking the exhaust cues from the LS...

I like both rides...and for me I would use the 7 or the LS for the family trips.... and have the M3, M5, porsche, GT-R, etc... for the daily/weekend/fun driving...
