this is awesome... exactly the kind of comparison that I know a LOT of people have been looking for.  I know Andrey had posed this idea quite a few times as an inexpensive way to acquire a car as good or better than the M3.  Personally, the look of the M3 is one of the main features that is unmatched by the Dinan model, but aftermarket support is already there to accomplish that.

So now BMW has aftermarket modification ability that does not void warranty (Dinan) and Lexus recently started offereing "F-sport" products that can be added to or replace stock items on the IS, Nissan/Infiniti is definitely behind the curve in this area.  I mean you can even have the dealer mod your Scion... I'd love to have that opportunity.

If Nissan wasn't so adamant about keeping Nissan and Infiniti separate, they could just bring the JDM Nismo parts for the Infiniti cars to America.  Oh well.

Only for the uninformed. Smiley  You can still buy the parts through most channels, just not your regular Infiniti parts counter.  The parts are ok, but a lot of the aftermarket offerings are superior in features and price.  I certainly would never buy the Nismo differntial or CAI.

just saying... if you're jacksJDMshop.com and your sole purpose is to import JDM honda, toyota, and nissan parts... that would be bad for business if they dealership started doing your job for you.  Especially since the importers typically markup these items a LOT, and if you get it from dealer you're probably paying a slight markup in price but not the outrageous shipping fee

They'd be ok.  They import more JDM aftermarket parts than factory parts anyway.  Only way you can get some of the brands like Gialla, Impul or Amuse.

Dinan tune costs about 2K
If you're not tracking the car and do not need all the suspension upgrades, the price difference is huge
You can also go with my route, LSD, sways and wheels. All under 5K
Add Dinan tune for 2K and you have very nice powerful car with good characteristics with more usable power (TQ) and 30+ hwy MPG.
As DD / fun car, i think tunned 335i is no brainer

P.S. Great video

The Dinan stage kits aren't too pricey really.  I mean you can get 1-3 at under 10k and thats upgrading a LOT of stuff

Arent too pricey?
How about everything they sell goes with 2K tag
FMIC, exhaust, tune, oil cooler, lighter flywheel, suspension
They have pretty "interesting" price policy where everything is 2K
 Shocked

Here's what I'm referring to... this is like level 3 working your way up their mod chart:

S2 Package (For cars equipped with the factory oil cooler)
Product Number: SE92-335S2FO

Dinan S2-335i

The Dinan S2-335 builds upon the S1 package by increasing output to 398 hp @ 5700 rpm along with 429 lb-ft torque @ 4300 rpm*
Price: $10382.46

Stage 3 Performance Engine Software with High-Boost Upgrade; Performance Intercooler; High Capacity Oil Cooler (for cars equipped with the factory oil cooler); Free Flow Exhaust; Stage 3 Suspension System (Performance Springs, Koni Struts and Shocks, 28mm Front Antiroll Bar, 15mm Rear Antiroll Bar; front camber plates); Dinan Pedal Pads; Dinan Deck Lid Badge; Serial Numbered Dinan-S2 Plaque

IMO, thats really not a bad deal, considering the return you will see after installation.  Now the INSTALLATION charges... probably suck.  I'm guessing that is what you were referring to with your $2k price?  I bet that would be astronomical on a kit like the one I posted above!
