Europe gets the G37 sedan, so its probably only a matter of time before the sedan gets the larger engine in the U.S.  Look at that beautiful big brake kit!  Shocked

Nav and a music hard drive with a CD changer in the dash (not in the trunk); more fuel efficient without sacrificing power or performance (I know you Infiniti engineers have it in you); rear seats that fold down to increase storage space when wanted; more colors.

The rear seats don't currently fold down?  That's crazy.  I love my fold down rear seat bench in my coupe.

I'm not a big sedan guy, but G37 sedan with items like the 14" brakes and G 19's would definitely make me consider one.

Current sedan has a "pass through" but no option (or standard for that matter) fold down seats in the rear

So this might just solve all my problems.... I could definitely see myself turning in my current G35 sans my new Work Wheels and springs and putting them on a new G37 Sedan.    Its definitely getting the big brake package this time around (per the specs above), ipod integration, 7speed auto, that new-fangled paint, and by next November, (when my lease is up) i bet deals will be easy to come by on this ride!  Just have to decide whether I want a 6MT or the 7AT this time around.   Have to think about NAV/TECH pkgs... can't say I've really missed them, but I'm kind of a techie, and I like stuff to play with.

Nice find!

Although, only the G37 Sport 6MT mentions the BBK. The AT Journey + Sport package does NOT mention it. I hope it's just an oversight in the spec!

It does say this though: which would infer that it DOES include the BBK... right?  Shocked

Great find Brandon, and very interesting.

I think it is a very good move on the part of Infiniti to release the G37 Sedan in the US, a very important market for Infiniti, and not just in Europe.  I also think it is great that Infiniti is making the G35/37 a better car.  But I do wonder why Infiniti is making such a major change to the G35 Sedan only two years after release of the 2007 model.  Since the actual shape of the car has not changed, does that limit the cost to Infiniti of making the changes?

Is it true that most car manufacturers tend to make a significant redesign of a model every approx four or five years, and then just tweak it a little in the intervening years?  When the G35 was first released (in 2002 as a 2003 model?), Infiniti thereafter did not release a major redesign of the car until 2006 for the 2007 model year.  For the 2003, 2004, and 2005 models, was there an upgrade nearly as significant as the G37 Sedan upgrade of the G35?  If not, what do you think has motivated Infiniti to accelerate the pace?  The G35/37 obviously is a very important car for Infiniti, as it accounts for most of its sales.

A few more questions?  How does the engine to be used in the G37 Sedan compare to the engine in the G37 coupe?  Do you think Infiniti will gear the G37 Sedan for better gas mileage?  If so, will the bigger engine compensate for any loss of acceleration by gearing the car for gas mileage?

I hope they find a way to resolve the 'noise' issue; I test drove a G37 coupe and I liked the car but the engine was entirely too noisy. I'm not sure if this was a function of the G37 being high revving or what...

Others can probably more accurately address this subject, like Sean, but if I'm not mistaken, there WERE some changes during the 1st gen.  For example

hp improvements in 05-06 over the 03-04 years

Some other enhancements noted by Wikipedia for the 05 MY

Quote
The G35 was refreshed inside and out in 2005. The interior was given sportier gauges with better backlighting and higher quality trim and knobs. Genuine aluminum trim replaces "tinted" interior trim, and the dash and center console layout were revised. Rosewood trim becomes available as a package on the 2005 models. MP3/WMA playback was added to the now standard 6 disc in-dash CD player, and the cassette player was removed across the board. Brembo brakes were removed for the 2005 and 2006 models, and the brakes were redesigned with larger discs and a different caliper design. This was partly in response to a number of complaints about the previous years' brakes, which included a class action lawsuit filed in California related to premature wear on 2003-2004 models[1][2]. A sport-tuned suspension package was standard on all 6MT models, which included a viscous limited slip differential. On the exterior there were new headlights, taillights, spoiler, hood, trunk, body-colored side sills, and front & rear bumpers.[3] The 2006 models received minor updates. Bluetooth capability was added to the interior for hands-free phone use. Rear active steering was an option for the '06 coupe.

Good point... I'm not opposed to a noiser exhaust note... I was considering aftermarket exhaust options.  I would be opposed to a noiser interior, but its pretty quiet inside the G35 sedan... so it would have to be a LOT louder to really bother me.
