Baby Infiniti Coupe
« on: June 19, 2008, 10:03:59 PM »

Ran across this on Edmunds

Rendering:

A 2.5L V6 most of us agree is needed.  My concern is the power to weight ratio.

I had heard of rumors of a 1 series fighter.  If they can fit the VQ25HR in there, they can vit the VQ37VHR in there too.  And they'll need that to compare with the 135i.

Hopefully its not tuned too soft.  I'm also assuming this means the G will veer futher away from its shared Z underpinnings and be going more touring.

I do hope it means that if I can't fit in the new Z, I can fit in this car, similar to the current Z and G are. Smiley

Yeah, I'm hoping it isn't too soft either.  I've been curious to see if Infiniti would come out with a two seater.  As far as the G become more touring oriented, I think that even between the first and second gen G's, you can see the move from sport toward touring.  It is especially visible in the coupe.

If they keep the weight down (which is really tough these days in luxury vehicles) this little 1-series could be quite fun.

looks pretty cool to me... i'm not looking for anything smaller... and I can't really see why anyone would want something smaller than a G37, but I guess the Z4 and 1series are selling, so maybe they'll try it.

I'm not digging that rendering.  The side is reminding me of the Hyundai Tiberon from a few years ago.

its not an infiniti design, but a rendering of what they speculate it will look like... if you look closely, you'll see its just a long nosed G37 with the new FX headlamps and a wavy crease going from headlamp to spoiler... nothing earth shattering...
