Apparently Infiniti is using its Scratch Shield Paint on 2008 and newer models. I did an internet search to find out what people think of it. The reports are it seems to work well to eliminate scratches and swirls when the car is exposed to warmth such as from sunlight, except for scratches that penetrate the clearcoat to the color coat. In a cold climate or in winter, it can take weeks to work. The reports are that is is okay to use a clay bar, sealant and wax over the scratch shield clearcoat, but it is not okay to use a cutting polish with a buffer. Use of something like Menzerna with a buffer reportedly causes the clearcoat to start coming off, although a solution was suggested to apply mineral oil to the pad before buffing (I did not see anyone confirming this works).
