Infiniti Tanking?
« on: July 10, 2008, 04:32:12 PM »

Well, it appears Nissan has initially given up on being 'better' than the american dealers and their plentiful 0-2% financing. I just looked at Infiniti's "current offers" and was pretty shocked:

2008 G35 - 1.9% for 60 months
2008 G37 - 1.9% for 60 months
2008 M - 0.9% for 60 months (!)
2008 EX - 0% for 72 months (!!)
2008 QX - 0% for 72 months

Just last month they were staggered at something like 2.6 for 36 months, 3.2 for 48, and 4.X for 60 months...

The fact they are doing 0% on the QX for 72 is not a surprise, but the rest of the rates are honestly a bit of a shock.
Nothing for the FX.. yet.

Sales suck.  Need to move cars!  Simple enough. Smiley

Too bad I'm not in the market for an EX right now.

Do you see me running out the door to buy a Lexus? Smiley

Then again, even at 0%, I wouldn't.

No, because a lexus would tarnish your "bad boy" image. Smiley

I suppose these are only on purchases, and that lease money factors are unchanged?

I was wondering the same thing.. but who knows. They very quietly removed all lease figures from the pages (For now)

I don't think there's anything surprising about this... just like I won't be surprised if Lexus does the same thing next week

How much you wanna bet they don't? Wink

Lexus has an image they try to maintain. Infiniti is still a brand that's trying to define itself, IMHO.

I won't be surprised if they don't either... but if they did next week or next month, it would be meaningless to me.  I suspect a big discount on both price and financing of the LX570 though... guess we'll see.

And if you check Nissan, its less popular models have aggressive financing too.  They're just trying to move what's currently slow.

LX is one of their flagships; I dont think they'll do anything with it..

Nissan has been doing 0% on cars for years now, Infiniti has not. I was merely noting the fact that Infiniti is now doing it.. not really a good thing to anyone praying to retain any value in their current car.

anyone expecting to retain value in a vehicle is a fool... cars are the most depreciable items you'll ever own.
