As a follow up,

I am slightly less impressed with the dealer than I was initially.

Why?

I got them to CPO the car. It should have gone through SOME kind of B.S. inspection at least. While I was picking the car up I noticed the trunk liner was falling out due to broken clips. The assumption was that the lojack was installed there and that's why the clips were broken, since they were closed (Service) they recommended I take it to my local lexus dealer. Ok, not a big deal.

Second discovery was a few days ago when I was poking around in the back seat - the left side of the back seat was not even attached to the car. The brace that should have been snapped in was completely out and the seat was just kind of flailing around.

Third discovery was a few nights ago during headlight adjustment, one of the fuse box covers in the engine compartment was COMPLETELY off and just floating around the engine compartment.

Guess I know why I got a good deal! Smiley

I agree... but my luck tends to be this way. Smiley

I am just going to pretend it's all due to the lojack install, right? Uh huh! Apparently he also had a K40 radar detector custom installed, and then removed. Theyd have to fish the wires somewhere... so...

He also left all his paperwork in the car; financing info, etc. Lots of stuff that shouldnt be passed along to the next person. Shame on him for leaving it, shame on the dealer for not checking for it.

I had his full name, address, business type, amount financed, etc. Scary.

could it be related to the stiff suspension bouncing pieces of your car loose?  surely not!

yeah is the lojack in the trunk behind the left rear seat?  if so would make sense

Social Sec #?   oops

The suspension isn't THAT bad!

My boss' CTS-V was actually way harder of a ride, scarily enough.

I think that's where the lojack is, all signs point in that direction. Smiley I guess they 'hide' it somewhere different on each car.

Not sure if his social was on there or not... felt I knew too much already!

And less impressed:

I was told he had a K40 radar installed on the car and removed before he sold it back to the dealer. So i decided to take off my license plate to take a look (they normally run the laser diffuser behind the license plate), and lo and behold, there's a wide open, unsealed hole behind the license plate.. about the size of the license plate bolt. Couldn't POSSIBLY be where they had the radar wire fished through, eh?

Nah, they told me he had it reinstalled on his LS. He paid them to: install on IS, uninstall from IS, and reinstall to LS. Smiley

I'd bet they got him for about $500-750 for the installation.

I just found ANOTHER issue with the car today regarding the K40 removal.... addressing with dealer, will see what happens.
