Old news for the most.  It's Nissan's way of ensuring that failure wasn't due to abuse for warranty claims.  They're not willing to shill out new transmissions left and right because people beat on them.

It's the way things are going, I think by 2012 or so all cars are supposed to have them.  I'm fine with it being used as a basis for warranty claims to prove abuse as those kind of stuff is very expensive for manufacturers.  I also think it's good for the police to be able to use it and determine what actions were taken by the driver before an accident.

It'll surely be the basis for some interesting lawsuits as people's cars are made to testify against their drivers ...  Roll Eyes

I know a guy who was racing illegally on the highway against a G35 in Maryland, clipped a minivan who didn't see him coming and caused a multi-car accident including his car being totaled when it hit a tractor trailer.  He lied to the police and the woman was in such shock and confusion she was unable to provide an explanation.  The cop ended up giving her the ticket for causing the accident.  The insurance adjusters had their misgivings about the police report but were ultimately unable to prove anything, so he was paid out for the total loss of his car.

Black box would've shown he was doing over 100 mph in the moments before the accident instead of having him lie like a piece of crap and letting her take responsibility.

And that was the death of the Fresh Alloy Project Sentra. Roll Eyes

OT: Really? I hadn't heard that one. Who the hell was driving that thing?

BOT: As you said, this stuff is going to be standard fare shortly enough. I don't mind; given some restrictions-if you could restrict access to crime and warranty related matters. If it is used to prove liability or fault, great. Potentially save the taxpayers some money to boot. And it can be confined to a warranty specific issue, great. Anything else, you better have a warrant and damn good attorney.......

FA's brainless co-owner and CEO Roll Eyes  Who else would have the nerve to lie about the situation?  He admitted it to some of us in the club, particularly Rick who is an insurance agent for Allstate because he was afraid of his claim being denied.

This is what he had posted on PFM.

i'm having problems with the insurance company (her's not mine) because of the contributory neglegence law in md where if your 1% at fault, they don't have to pay anything - and because she says she was going 72 they are saying i must have been going the same speed so that means bla bl abla bla bla - i went today to file the lawsuit as i found a lawyer to help me with this plus i filed the complaint in the insurance commissioners office....

a real pain in the ass

That video is from the same afternoon that he wrecked the car, racing.

Go find the thread on FA, how he's a complete victim and it was all the other driver's fault. Roll Eyes

if you wanna call it that, lol... today has been a good day.  Only a little "hearty discussion" and "active listening" to some whiners.

Otherwise... its been great.. I've gotten a lot of work done, and even managed to find a gas station WITH GAS on my lunch break, haha.
