Quote
With a 27% decrease overall, September was the worst month-to-month percentage drop in US automotive sales since 1991. Lexus certainly wasn't exempt from the ill effects, with sales down 33.4%. Here's the model-by-model breakdown:

Summarized:

2008    2007    % Change
Total Cars    9,430    15,131    -35.1

I'm surprised they're actually selling some LX570s... not surprised about the rest... car sales are down across the board

Yeah.. it would take me all night to post the losses for all the other brands. No one did well, except audi(?!).

I don't get the deal with the LX either; I think it's a nice looking truck at an outrageous price. I've only seen one on the road here. I'm really curious as to who's picking them up.

The LX 570 is awesome on the inside.  Fit and finish is first, first rate, I thought I was in a Bentley.  My wife loved it for the pure luxury, for the pure ambience.  I'd be looking at 1500/mo on a lease with a very low depreciation, making it harder to buy it later, I guess.

But it hurts too much paying full MSRP.  The dealer had two, one was already sold, I test drove one that was sold the following week.  I would have to wait 15 odd days to get a white pearl one.  It's selling more than they expected, or so I was told.

The car is a beauty, the engine is a peach (5.7L V8 also on the Sequoia I got), and the off road capabilities are there, second to none.  But it is too expensive indeed.

Drive by a BMW dealer and marvel at their collection of M3's and M5's! Smiley

My BMW dealer's inventory is currently 10 M3's, and 5 M5's, and 2 M6's.
