So, I wrote Lexus a letter ...
« on: September 12, 2008, 05:00:18 PM »

I know these things are often a waste of time, but I wrote a letter to Lexus Customer Relations suggesting some improvements to their Navigation system. I of course hit on the in-motion lockout, but concentrated mainly on things like the lack of detail at higher zoom levels, etc.

Much to my surprise, I got a really nice call from hqtrs in CA this afternoon, thanking me for my suggestions and encouraging me to share any other thoughts and recommendations I might have with them. The nice lady told me they value customer input and appreciate "real-world" feedback like this, and that my suggestions would be sent on to the engineers who design these systems.

I was probably being flim-flam'ed, but they did it with skill.  Grin

At least you got a call and someone actually read your note instead of throwing it in the garbage.

Good job on Lexus' part.

I thought Lexus doesn't have that?  You can just agree to a disclaimer and you can use it while driving...

Nupe - Lexus locks you out just like Infiniti and a few others.

I bought and installed a piece of aftermarket hardware that allows me to override it, but the OEM Lexus system doesn't allow programming while moving.
