horreee crap that is huge!!!!  This has the UL right? so it has the electronic air damper system, you can raise/lower the LS with the air system and they are going to get that fixed!!! SWEET... make sure they replace the UL system and don't take out the air and put in regular springs...

that is a great deal!
Yup.. UL. That's why I've been all over it.. for under $19K it can't be beat. The suspension is completely fixed now, along with the other issues. I found two more items which I'll be bringing it back for Smiley

Thats pretty darn good they are willing to fix all that stuff.  Makes you wonder what they paid for it...? Huh?

They normally pay private party KBB values on cars and then sell them for the retail value.

Condition        Value

Excellent
   $18,475

Good
   $17,625

Fair
   $16,175

So they probably got about $17K for it would be my guess...

I haven't actually completed any transactions with carmax, but it seems they are great for buyers and lousy for sellers. What they offered me for my M (don't ask) was a joke.

How long ago? When I did my appraisal there a year ago they offered me exactly what dealers were offering me for trade.. Sad

Have you looked at any newer Avalons instead?  Something like a 06 for around
same price.     Smiley

Having looked at an avalon when looking at the M, I have to say ANY Lexus is in a whole other league.  The Avalon is a great car for people who want a point a to point b, but the thing has about as much soul as my big toe nail.  Its a bigger, heavier, nicer Camry, and thats exactly what it feels like.

The avalon is definitely a nice car, but a little more bland than i'd like.. not that the LS is "amazing", but it's definitely more exciting Smiley

First problem since purchase:

One (cant isolate which) speaker makes a crackling sound when the car is started; even with the radio off.

Maybe are the ones that are active when bluetooth/Navigation commands/directions are spoken?  These ones work with the radio off, in the Sequoia it's the front left speaker, maybe the center too.

I *think* there is an auto test on the Infiniti, possibly on the Toyota/Lexus too, that tests each speaker separetely.  It's like 40 turns tunning to the left, press display, etc. who knows what sequence?  The dealer should know.  If they're all good, then it could be the amp/voice components?

No BT Sad The speaker that the navi/etc commands come through are the driver's side front, and it doesnt *seem* to be coming from there but it's hard to say. Right now it's just a minor annoyance, once i get some more warranty items chalked up i'll take it in and have them fix it.

PS: dont know that the audio test would necessarily help, because it only happens on vehicle start.. Sad

[Edit]

Something just occurred to me.. used the LS to jump start the GS a few days ago. I don't remember the LS having this issue before, but perhaps I just didn't notice it or it is a coincidence that it just started doing it?

I wouldn't think so, but who knows?  The audio test would show if there is a short somewhere in the amp side, so it could show it should have to be on the speaker side.  Remember, playing music is one thing, so maybe you're playing the wrong stuff to trigger it.

Have you tried industrial rock Grin?  Or this?  This is known to be the ultimate speaker test, if played at max volume:

Creepiest video ever.. Tongue

I have actually downloaded and tried several different audio test CD's in the car. I was temporarily deaf for a few days, I think... the frequencies on some of the CD's are amazing!

Nah, even worse.. XM radio. Compression Much?

But in all seriousness, the audio CD's have a disclaimer with them basically saying "this can make you deaf".. also the way they make the speakers react; they suggest NOT skipping between tracks.
