Sadly, I think the InsideLine review is dead-on. Looks are mediocre at best, and the G looks better (IMHO). As edmunds is saying, it's a dressed up G with a bigger price tag and not enough refinement. Kind of disappointing... Sad

the fact YOU think the G is better looking is sad, because i know you're not a fan of the G.

I'm not not-a-fan of the G. I am not happy with the recent changes to the body, but the body style last year was nice. I almost bought one!

So I took this car for a drive while in San Diego.  I hate to say it but the Edmunds report is spot on.  The looks are . . . i'll call it polarizing.  I recall the first time I seriously looked at the M45 was when I was just driving out of a gas station and saw one parked in a lot.  Thought "Hey that looks pretty cool, what's that?".  Then I went to drive one and liked it.  Same with the Genesis Coupe except then I drove it and laughed.  No such reaction with the M56/37.  My wife thought it was a maxima.  Then she laughed and said "Oh I thought it was one of those souped up Maxima's that those Asian Gansters drive" (true quote).  Anyways, the interior?  AWESOME.  Seriously, they did a great job with the interior.  The drive?  Lacking.  Really it's like driving the G37 Sedan.  The ride is just lame.  Now i don't wan't it Lexus LS like but more BMW 5 series like.  This is more like . . . well like a G frankly and that's not right.  I don't think this thing will totally fail but I definately don't see this as a game changer for them.

I haven't seen the interior yet but my expectations are still not terribly high based on what I am seeing in the FX... Sad

I hate the new roof lining material. Some suede like crap. I really liked the old one.

I like suede like finishes (real suede is a pain), makes it more vintage British like...  But I can't comment on that on the Infiniti.

I don't like stuff that looks like a vacuum cleaner left directional marks all over it.....

Keyword in my post: "looks"

I ran my finger across it at the dealer and it left a snail trail. Ugly as sin.
