Wow! One year already. There is a lot I could say (and probably eventually will), but I would really like to hear back from all our members on what they both love and hate about this site. What can we do to make it better? What can we do to get even more member participation? What should we stop doing?

It's been awhile since Oz and I have put in any serious changes (our real jobs and families keep us busy enough!). But we would like to know your thoughts and start planning....

Post away!

What a year... its been one of many monumental achievements for me, and I was glad to share them here.  I've learned a lot and enjoyed the healthy discussion.

My vote is kill the political forum, it really was lively and great during the presidential election, but now it seems to have become an area of malcontent.  Nothing personal against anyone here, because a lot of the griping I actually agree with, but I just think it could go away without anyone missing it.

As for increased member participation, we just have to show continued interest in our new members... really evoke some response from them.

Happy Birthday

Thanks to Oz & Ohm for all the hard work

It feels like more than a year to me but Happy Birthday.  I tend to agree with Brandon on the political forum.  It does seem a little out of place on a car site and tends to polarize people more than arguing over whether Acura has lost it's design way or not.  It does make for some interesting reading though and that may not be a bad thing for a new site.

Happy Birthday and congrats!

I think it should have more...FAQs?  I'm guessing it can be frustrating for some who can't see anything, then register waiting for the ultimate car faq site, and found nothing...Not that I think we should produce or find FAQ, I'm just wondering really.

I don't think removing the political forum is such a good idea, I like it a lot, it goes without saying.  I use it (egoistically perhaps) as a notepad for myself, it's better than my bookmarks and helps me organize my thoughts on important subjects.  Elections you have every two years, so I think you can't scape the subject.  If you kill it, it will make it's way somehow in other threads, I fear.   You could perhaps rename it as something more generic (and if you delete the post, can I get a .txt copy of my posts?  heh, I like the links specially, sometimes I get to sites and blogs with very intelligent conversations I've never heard before or since).

One thing I don't like much is the confusion regarding the photography threads.  It should be organized by subject perhaps, I don't know.  As it is, it's a bunch of "my last pics" threads where you don't really know what to expect and how to find the good things later.

Happy Birthday.

The political thread needs to be dropped.  If it is possible, there needs
to be more regular car names such as Nissan, Honda, and Toyota to
go along with the premium car names.  I think that would bring in
more people if they see this.  More people probably have the non
premium cars than so the premium cars.   Grin

Any more suggestions? I like the idea of cleaning up the photography thread. Might attempt that one soon.....
