The role is pretty straightforward. Keep the masses in line! Just kidding.
My approach is to make this an informational site that is fun to participate in. I like structure and being able to find what I need quickly and also just hanging around participating in discussions. That's why I want each car subforum to be a replicate, in terms of structure. Is that structure correct? I don't know, but it is consistent, and that goes a long way. We will review that structure regularly and adjust it to suit our ever-evolving member needs. But, again, it needs to be a unified change that is reflected in all the forums.
The Moderators need to make sure that no one takes personal shots at other members or non-members and keep to the high road. Squash bad karma immediately. There is no room for that here. And no one gets any special privileges either. Be it an admin, moderator, member, or sponsor in the event someday we go that route too. And on the flip side, applaud people often. It is a small gesture but it can be that little thing that puts a smile on someone's face.
So I recruit people with knowledge, humor, civility, ethics, no related business ties, and the ability to wrap that all around the vital ability of having fun....
