There is no word or phrase in the English language that properly conveys my true sentiments of the above.

GM sponsoring Hot Import Night.  And they wonder why they're losing market share.

I was having this same conversation w/ my boss tonight, talking about the HUGE GM booth at HIN. It was a) completely out of place b) a huge waste of money

They had a WHOLE stage/platform setup all for a silly modified pontiac solstice(??)) 1 seater. It looked like a neat car, but.. the end.

They also had an 18 wheeler in there, it looked like the kind for high end car transport. COMPLETELY enclosed trailer, all painted up, etc. I'd bet they are blowing an easy $30+K on EACH HIN show.

THe other scary thing was the presence of army recruiters and national guard. It was a bit eery.

i don't think they're wasting their money... there were at least 8 modded cobalt SS's at my HIN, ( i didnt take pics of them, lol) but obviously it has a following, as it was probably one of the most represented vehicles there!

I think you were secretly digging that thing.

Seriously, I am sure there are people there that are thinking "Wow, people are really digging my viking riding a polar bear mural on my prius.  Damn I'm good."

Too true.  Anybody that spends the enormous amount of time and money to highly modify their car has my respect for the effort put in.  It doesn't mean I like the results, but I appreciate the process.  Hell, I've been looking at wheels for two years.

Agreed... They can have my props, just don't expect me to like it!!!  ahahahh

For example...  There was a guy on another forum that completely covered his factory trim to a holographic blue print on his M35.  Although everyone knocked him and laughed at him for doing it, I gave him props, told him I wouldn't do that to my car, but gave him props on his mod because he took a lot of time and did a pretty clean job...

I get the same feeling when I see interior wood kits.  Some of them are really intricate.  I've even seen one where the guy made the laminates himself.

Oz - I like that avatar.  Gave me a good laugh.

Glad I could entertain. The sad thing is - there really isn't a circus any more, I have to change the sign to read 'sold into slavery'
