Certainly don't see that kind of collection of cars at the drag strips here, that almost looks like a car show than a drag night.  See a lot of older cars converted for drag duty and other various modded muscles cars, something that I'm not seeing in your photos.  Typically, I see more domestics at the strips around here than imports, and most of the imports are of the kind that embarrass you for driving an import.

Nice bikes.  I wonder if that Haybusa can do mid 5s, but more likely low 6s, like this one on sale for 9.5K with 17K miles...tempting.

The Harley clones with S&S engines look sick, maybe too sick...  Cheesy  I'd like to try one though, wonder what times those things can do.

And I agree, lots of brand new, late model cars.  But that 1-series is so ugly it hurts.  The front end/headlights look like a cheap korean/Chinese econobox.  Argh.  The offsets are so extreme, it must be a drag special, I hope.

And why most GT-Rs are white or gunmetal?  I have no idea what's the color palette though.

THere were a handful of dragsters/muscle car/conversions, I just didnt take pictures of them Sad Not really my thing and I tend to look over them. They had two lanes dedicated to dragster/muscle/etc. As for the rest of the cars, it was a pretty diverse mix.

The GT-R fest was kind of entertaining. There was also one other black IS-F, except it was a neiman marcus version.. Smiley

The track I went to is about 4(?) hrs north of Miami, so definitely not the same track. That car looks almost identical though - except the rim swap... it's quite possible it's the same person.

I am completely not into bikes, but the ones that come out to this track are normally amazingly impressive to look at and see.

As for the GT-R color.. good question. I've only seen it in gunmetal until last night, when i saw white. Both colors compliment the car very well... I think there is a red as well, which could be a little too 'look at me!' for some people?

GT-R colors from what I remember (I'll look up later if incorrect)

  • Solid Red
  • Gun Metalic (mine)
  • Black
  • Super Silver
  • Titanium
  • Ivory Pearl

I think the Super Silver was hand painted (~3k? premium) or something retarded like that....

Yeah, you have red as a color, then black, white and shades in between.

I would have no problem with red, but there are reds and reds.  I'd like one yellow one too, like an italian.  I'd like to see the gun metal, super duper silver and titanium side by side, but that's asking a bit too much!

I just wouldn't go for white, and the pearl whites, the only one I really like it, like it stand out from all the white pearls I've seen, is the one on the LX570.  That pearl sparkles so much it hurts, and changes color while standing still, I think.

lol... i recall you saying something about british green and yellow in another thread... maybe they'll give us some decent colors in the future.  Nothing like a GT-R in blue in my opinion... not navy blue, more electric blue.

nice pics oz, and yeah i've never seen ANY of those cars at the drag strip near here.  its all like HD said modded out chevettes and crap... but boy can they move!

what did you run this time Oz?

and that TRUCK was just comical looking

The Z USED to have some badass colors.  The new ones are bit meh.  Infiniti's palette just sucks anymore.  The Z's new blue is pretty horrible, the old Daytona blue was nice.

If they took some of the dead Z colors like Daytona Blue, Ultra Yellow, Brickyard, Solar Orange, etc.... and offered them on the GT-R, they'd probably be pretty popular.  One thing I'll give Hyundai credit for with the new coupe, tons of color options, all very dynamic.

All the Z colors.
