Random FX "adventure"
« on: April 25, 2010, 05:00:50 PM »

So since I have had the FX50 it has not rained ONCE until today so I jumped at the opportunity to go out for a drive. The weather was pretty awful most of the time, but got a bit nicer .. and then bad again (welcome to florida). This is pretty much a random collection of pictures with no rhyme or reason. Smiley

There's a few nice shots in there Oz.  Were you pretending that you bought an SUV?  Driving back in to town with mud all over it like a badge of offroading honor.

Nice pics.  It looks like you had fun, so good!

The car looks very good on this pic I think, nice stance, and the front end fits in a way, and how can you not like the overall planted, solid stance.

Strangely, you'd think after living in FL my whole life i'd keep an eye out for them, but I am somehow completely oblivious... Sad That lake is actually notoriously full of them (and I didn't even think about it until you just mentioned it!)

the gators got scared off by the large black land shark looking creature..... Grin

sweet, now you don't have to worry about how you drive - as with the lowered F.  I miss that sometimes....

love the rear shots!  that FX is a sweet looking ride, just wish the font could be tweaked a bit....side and rear are perfect.....

Damn you're good.. Tongue I might pick some up (from you, if i do) but we'll see. That's something about infiniti; out of the three i've owned 0 have come with wheel locks. All 4 of the Lexus did have wheel locks (I believe these are port/dealer installed options, but for some reason lexus seems to have made it a standard whereas infiniti has not)

I am.. as I was doing it I was thinking "hmm, the FX can kind of do this.. but doing it in something that can really do it could be more fun"... then I got to thinking "but doing it in comfort is half the fun to me", which lead me to an unrealistic LR purchase which is not going to happen. Sad

Haha re: shark. Smiley I agree on the front.. unfortunately there is such a limited market for this car I don't think anyone is going to come out with an aftermarket fix (unless it's a one-off/custom); I think it'll be changed in a "refresh" though. Also, I think a "larger" front end/bumper is going to hurt the already less-than-stellar gas mileage... Sad

land rovers aren't really all they are cracked up to be, not since they were purchased by ford.

I know the reliability/quality on them is complete crap, but from what I understand they are still at the top of the list of off-road usability?

hahahahahahahahaha,
That video is hilarious.  No offense, but I could get a ford flex, no a ford Taurus through everything that they went through and more.  Oh wait... I actually have done that.

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs117.snc3/16458_1251681566477_1062655046_767352_2575573_n.jpg

Also the advice given about going through mud/water is TOTALLY wrong.  Especially when you have silly street tires on clay.
