Some cool cars with Carputers
« on: September 08, 2009, 10:59:49 AM »

After I found out this sick uber cool 92' SC 300 (I love this car) with a carputer setup, I decided to post here some cool rides with external, mechanical and mainly computer mods:

Quote
This is a 1992 Lexus SC300.
The car was built from a $900 shell off ebay. It took 4 years in a garage to complete.
It was featured in the April issue of Modified magazine and will soon be featured in Performance Auto and Sound Mag.

I wont bore everyone with ever little mod, but will list the major ones.

Engine.
Toyota Soarer's 1JZ engine swap with 700hp.
lots of custom parts.

Very nice CarPC setup! Like the UI.. and also liking the dash work they had done around it. I think I may have seen this car in person, but not the PC part....

The UI is the Centrafuse, same one as I use.  The one below uses Ride Runner, very nice, but a pain to setup.  It's getting better by the day recently though, and I have already installed it for testing.

Nice.. can't say i'm fond of that UI though. Assuming it's skinnable, though?

Yes, that's a skin with lots of "features", Digital FX, I use this Nissan based one (carwings):

This thing is like linux, skins everywhere, you get itchy to try the flavor of the week every time you run the car.
