Well, we got one ...

Yeah, I know people seem to hate the front-end of the TL, but there is a lot of goodness in the car - enough to overcome that schnoz. We got one for the wife last night to replace her Caddy STS, which is going off lease. She's thrilled.
This thing looks as good from the rear as it does questionable from the front!

Nice car, I know there is quite a price difference, but how does the TL feel
compared to your Lexus.

I like how the rear looks. I'm with you about the front
Car shape reminds me of the Lexus GS.
Congrats on the purchase.

Congrats... Nice car, doesn't look pretty, but i'm sure the engineering that went into it is awesome.

1st the good: Congrats. It is an Acura, so the vehicle itself must be very good. And your wife is thrilled (reportedly).
2nd the bad: Sorry, Mike. I think this is the first car of yours (and we've seen many!), that I have to say is unattractive front to back.
I say the good wins?

Thanks ... I guess.
Actually, the car's looks grow on you, and I don't think it's bad-looking to begin with. I really like the 3/4 rear view.
Well, okay, the grille is still a little, uh, "disarming', but look at the grilles on Audi's and Nissan GT-R's ... oops, I may have just offended someone big! LOL.
The wife loves it and that's what counts.
And yes, the tech is awesome. Acura just blows everyone else away. The Nav even has live doppler weather radar overlaid on the maps when you want it. The voice recognition is amazingly accurate and the BT is excellent. Their keyless door unlock is like on my Lexus - just grab the handle in the normal way and it unlocks ... no buttons to push, etc. Sound system is great,
Compared to my Lexus, it's more of a sporty ride - nice, but flatter and more jiggle on uneven roads.
Thanks, 07G - our modest retirement cottage is comfortable.

saw a black one this weekend coming at me on a two lane road and actually said hey that looks pretty nice.... but it could definitely look better. Just weird from most angles, I'm sure the tech and the interior comfort and ride quality are great though

I say keep looking for aftermarket grilles!
But the front is very ugly, IMHO, sorry. It looks like it wants to be an appliance, with all that stainless look. It's like they hired somebody from Viking or Kalamazoo to design the front end, to mimic a grill hood or something...But what the heck, when you drive it, you're not looking at it, and I'm sure it's a good car to drive.
Congrats on the purchase, I saw one the other day and I agree it's actually not too bad from the rear.
Cheers,
RH.

The TL's grille might look a bit odd at first, but it still looks better than
the grilles on the 04 - 06 Maxima's. Talk about fugly.

Saw one live today and I was reminded of when I saw pictures of the Cayenne and thought "wow that's going to suck" but then live I thought "Hey, that's actually pretty good looking". . . . except this time I thought "Hey, it's actually worse in person". Sorry. I'm 100% certain that the electronics/drive/engine you name it is superb but ouch that thing is uh shall we say unique looking. If your wife loves it, that's all that counts though. Oh, watch out for decepticons though!
