That's nice that they update the navigation map data.  Much better than dropping $150 for a new DVD!

Yeah, it was nice of them...  However I don't know if they always update it for free.  I wonder because they were down there changing all the components (bluetooth module, which resides in the naivation "brain center") they did that as well.  Also the software update was also free, but not required as there was no problem with the old one besides customer complaints.

I haven't heard Nissan willingly updating the software of their system to allow people to make changes while driving... so

The new bluetooth module now allows for stereo music over bluetooth.  If you have a phone that supports it, it should work.  If you want the whole low-down on the new MMI (which does look amazing) check out this interview with the big cheese...

Considering he is the "General Manager of Product Planning" of Audi America, I'd say thats exactly what we are going to get...  Those maps are gorgeous... I just wonder how much of them are true 3D.  Probably limited to the big cities would be my guess.

Friend of mine works for the US arm of the company that develops the MMI.  He has a company car A6 that he uses for all the system testing, was showing me the new version a couple months ago.  It was pretty damn sweet, even in beta mode.

If you really start using your phone for playing music this is pretty neat for integrating it into your home system if you don't have a PC connected to your home theater already.

Your in luck!  You don't need one as long as your phone supports stereo bluetooth... Smiley
