Here's my LS460
«

Mine is the standard wheelbase (SWB) model, although in this pic it looks 30 feet long.
Here's a 3/4 rear shot. I like this angle, since it shows off it's broad shoulders and those cool faired-in exhaust finishers.
The interior is called "Alabaster". They shipped the car in from out-of-state, so I didn't see how light the color was until I took delivery.
Turns out I couldn't love it more. After 5 months, I have zero stains or "bad places" on it, and all I've done is wipe it with Maguiar's leather cleaner a time or two. I like how the light color makes it feel open and bright.

Very nice.. are there any options you can't get on the SWB that you can only get on the L? If so, are there any options you wish you could've gotten?

Yes, the "L" version has several niceties you can't get on the SWB. Prime among them is a rear passenger seat that is like something out of Business Class in a jetliner ... it not only reclines, but a footrest lifts up to support your feet. The seat not only warms and cools, but also massages. And it comes with separate audio and video controls for the rear seat passengers, as well as separate A/C units for them, and a little chill box for their champagne. It's pretty disgusting.
There are a few other things, but the SWB offers most of the goodies. I have the dual-pane laminated side window glass, power door closers, parking assist (beeps and a picture on the Nav screen) to show how close you are - front and rear, heated and cooled front seats and heated rear, heated steering wheel, power folding mirrors, power trunk opener/closer, Nav, Bluetooth, 16-way adjustable driver's and 12-way adjustable passenger's seats, articulating xenon headlights, power rear sunshade, 19 speaker/450 watt sound, backup camera, etc., etc., etc. LOL.
But one of the things I enjoy the most is the "Hold" button the steering wheel. Press it once and it lets you stay stopped at red lights without having to keep mashing on the brake pedal. When the light turns green, you simply press the accelerator and the brake releases. (I'm easily amused.
)
And, nope - I got every option I wanted.

I think when I sat in an "L" at an auto show I was most impressed by the rear seat leg room. (I previously thought the M had a lot, it does, but nothing compared to that 460L). 2nd being just how quiet it was inside the car with all the doors and windows shut. The guy getting out as my friend and I piled in said... I've never SEEN so many buttons.
That being said... I'm a driver, and I see this as more of a "riding" car, the passengers are getting pampered, and I'm not concerned about my passengers... there rarely are any. And sound-proofing doesn't matter much when you crank your stereo like I do!

Here's a pic of the back seat legroom of the "regular" LS with the front seat set to my preferences. I'm about maybe 5'9" or 10", so I'm not a tall guy, but you get the idea:

Hahaha. ACTUALLY ... that's a shot I took of a car they gave me to drive for a day. They were of course trying to get the hook in me, not knowing I'd already taken the bait.
When I got my own car, they had taken that little tag off and put it carefully in the glovebox, but I think it said something about how great the leather is or something. Anyway, it would take more than a tag to keep my wife from spilling stuff in the car.

Someone said something about the LS's rearend, so it gives me a chance to see if Ohmster fixed my gallery posting problems. If he DID, this image will look better then the ones I've attached so far ...
I really like its butt, but I'm an ass man.

I think you had the 14 speaker bose system in your M45; right? If so, how does(n't) it compare to the Levinson system? I am pretty uninspired by the Bose system and hear (heh heh) nothing but praise about the Lexus/Levinson designs. Having owned both cars, how do you compare? (PS, I realize the LS and M don't really share the same market segment)

New posts should be fine. It was just the old ones that were broken. I went through and manually fixed yours in this thread.

Well, I'm not a real audio nut, so all I know is what sounds good to me.
I enjoyed the Infiniti's system, but like all Bose it seemed to go muddy too soon in the bass ranges. Try to push the bass a tad too much and it quickly overdrives the speakers. Otherwise I liked it.
The Levinson is more forgiving, and IMO produces a richer, fuller sound. My one beef with it happens to also be on the bass. Unlike the Bose in the M, the Levinson reproduces bass too well for me ... I end up turning the bass down to avoid getting the spine-buzzing "boom...boom boom...boom" in songs where I never really noticed the bass before. It's like the bass is overdone, and so crystal clear that it sounds like things I hear coming out of low-riders in the lane next to me. For bass lovers, that's great, but it's a tad too much for this country boy.
Bottom line, though, is that while the ML outshines the Infiniti Bose by a sizeable amount,both systems make good listening if tuned right.
(Was that a non-answer?
)
