My day as Trin.....
« on: June 09, 2008, 02:14:12 PM »

So got invited to a private car showing for some high end cars Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati... could not pass this up to be like Trin for a few minuets... Grin

Sorry that I could not get all the info but I was just blown away with the rides that were there, the event was sponsored by a bank and a dealer brought some nice rides for select customers to get in, feel it out and drive the cars around in a non-dealer setting... sounds boring, I know.... Wink

There were 4 Ferrari's - sorry don't know the models, 430, and some others... the start up note of the exhaust was just...... Shocked x 100.

There were three Lambo gallardos 1 hard top two spyders

There were 4 Bentley's (continental(??) gts(??) and the speed)

there were three Maserati's  one grand tourismo coupe and two quadroples.

drove the quadrople first, very nice car, very sporty, fit and finish was very nice, was on the firmer side for a large car, had some get go (I am sure it was a lot but after my next two drives a space ship would have some get go).  Great ride, probably a rare car so nice to have, great leg room in the back.

Next drive was the Bentley Continental (I think the "base" model), this had the "same" interior combo as mine the bourbon and black, uh, but a little more upscale with the Bentley... Grin  had the 14 hour hand made leather stitched steering wheel, and man what a nice wheel this was.  The B had some damn nice go!  twin turbo, quite as heck, big as heck but moved like a mo fo.  this was a nice firm ride, little more bounce then the Maserati but no major floating here.

the B was even worlds apart from the Maserati.  Fit and finish was damn nice, solid well built car, was really a nice ride and I felt like asking those stopped along side at red lights if anyone had grey poupon...

   This was damn nice ride....

Okay so I had to take one of the Lambos out... the Ferrari's were nice but a silver Lambo was callin.... so I went....

Wow.  damn nice start up, I could have this thing parked in the garage and just start it up every morning and be pumped for the rest of the day.

I really thought it would be a difficult car to drive as you are practically sitting on the road, low as heck, all the body mass is behind you, but I soon learned that all you really need to see if in front and the view to the back was fine.

the shifters on this gallardo were the steering pedals, easy to use, power at will, accelerate like crazy...

maybe it was b/c the top was down but this car commanded the most looks, I mean everyone was staring, taking photos, videos...really crazy....

This was just an unreal experience to be able to drive these great cars and man, Trin, what a great place to be to have some of these monster cars in your garage, sweet for you man!!!

did not take too many pics as I did not want to seem like the new guy with camera, but took some shot of the silver banana that I drove.....

wow.....still on a high....

The event from far away... think you can see a Ferrari...hehehehe

the rear... as I sadly walk away from the drive.... Grin

hahaha.  I told you the Gallardo was a fantastic car.  I'm still truly impressed with that thing.  How about the fit/finish of the INTERIOR?  That was a huge deal for me as these things are usually poorly built.  And that engine?  You really feel the AWD (assume you had a newer version) don't you?  It seemd extremely well planted on the floor.  Also, that "I can do anything you want" feeling driving.  In other words, 50 yards up 20 yards to the right at 50 mph you need to go in there? Bang, no problem.  The control feeling is amazing.  If you drove the Gallardo, I can tell you the F430 is almost exactly the same.  Little different in the engine, noise, road holding but not uber different so you don't have to drive both.  I would compare it to driving the M45 and say the GS from Lexus.  You get most of the feel.  I'm glad you had fun.

B, only reason I got invited was b/c I know the dealer - well.

Trin, yes, forgot to mention that this was the AWD version. and yes, I rembered you had issues with the newer Lambo but dug this one, I also was looking for the creaks, etc., but YES, well built machine!!!!

Planted and felt like nothing would move me but for where I wanted to go, no sway, float but full on power.  unreal, just unreal.  I really could get used to this car.... Grin

the shifts had a slight hesitation but hearing the exhaust roar, then shift to roar was just nuts...

The whole day sounds like a lap dance with a super hot stripper.  Fun while it lasts, but in the end you've got blue balls. Sad

pretty much from what I hear about a lap dance.... Wink

but getting into the M after was not as bad as I thought it would be...of course it did not sound or drive as much as a hot rod as the Lambo.... Grin

by the way Trin, if you have pics of those flux-capictors on the new lambo LP640 i wanna see what they look like lit up.  The lower front light leds in the Y shape and the rear tails....

Yeah... does remind me of my trip to Montreal.  Something about getting a lap dance in French. Cheesy
