exhaust note is absolutely enchanting.... enough said.

the sheer power, sound and comfort is more than enough...plus how long are you going to be able to hang onto this before you "have" to give it back to dealer who will make another 100% plus sale on the same car you already had the luxury of driving....

damn nice deal, plus all that cool stuff, model car, book with photos...just classy.

One of these days I am going to start a thread on these lux cars and the love hate relationship with keeping one.  Trin gets the best deal, in first, out first, don't have to deal with headaches of long term ownership.

The 355, for instance, Jeremy Clarkson's "ultimate" driving machine at the time, so great that he actually went out and bought one... a yellow one no less, after his review.  But the 355 now seems to be an "affordable" buy right now.  But the costs just to change the damn cambelt/timing belt, which needs to replaced often (3 years! 50K miles...) is a costly item as the damn belt is located in the middle of the 355...yeah, yank out that engine to get access...  they just don't seem to be able to be reliable over the long run, but look damn beautiful when working well...  just some thoughts...

but Trin, does not need to worry about these issues as he will be long gone before any damn belt needs changing!  great place to be with Ferrari!

Well, you are going to love this.  The factory contacted me with the brand manager for NA on the phone.  Very nice Italian lady and she said they went over my ownership records and noticed I didn't have a current Ferrari since I had turned in the last 458.  They wanted to know if I was planning on making any of the events they had in the fall.  I said "probably, I always enjoy them and I like to race in the events but (and here I laughed) preferably in their cars.  They told me they wanted to make sure I had a car.  Sooooo, and I have to admit even I was floored by this, they are shipping a car to me until I can turn it in for the FF.  They will guarantee me in writing that they will buy it back for MSRP plus all registration costs by signing a buy back form when I pick the car up.  The brand manager said "please don't wreck it".  Anyways, I just got another "free" Ferrari.  This one is a California in Red with Nero interior.  It's on a truck from Southern Cal literally as I write this.  What the heck am I going to do with this thing?  I'm not even going to be here for the month of August as I take off for the East Coast for vacation (including a (bleah) cruise).  I freaking love this brand.  Here's the specs:
2011 Ferrari California Options:

·        AFS System “ adaptive headlights”

·        Carbon rear moulding

·        Cruise Control

·        Daytona Style seats F/R

·        Electrically operated seats

·        IPOD

·        Scuderia Shields

·        Electrocromatic int. mirror + Homelink

·        Parking Camera

·        20” Diamond Finish Sport Wheels

·        Yellow Rev. Counter

·        All stichings in color

·        MSRP: $223,555.00

OK OK Point well taken.  I mean if it sits in my garage for a month while I'm away but doesn't cost anything, then no skin off my teeth right?  Guess I'll go get it!  Thanks guys.

Well, now I have 2 California's.  One old and one new.  Right off the bat, I'll say it's no 458.  It feels. . . lighter but not in a good way.  It seems less stable due to the lightness.  There is no SCREAM from the engine but more of a muted growl.  I do like the fact that it drops a drop of gas into the manifold to make a WHUMP sound when you shift up to say 3rd from 4th.  The electronics are ok, not Infiniti but seems better then the Lexus's but that isn't saying much.  I like it.  I just don't drool love it.  It's a good bridge to the FF.
Full review later.  Meanwhile, here are some pix:
