Was all the CF done as factory/port installed options?

When are we going for a spin and where's the pictures? 

AUUUGGGH, They are coming but I don't have the car delivered yet!!! It was picked up today and left the dealer at 11:00 a.m.  The driver is making a special trip to deliver it to my door.  The ONLY car in his truck is mine and it's coming up from just south of L.A.  Should take about oh I don't know, how long does it take a truck to come up the 5 from L.A.?  I'll have pix tonight. I'm flying solo tonight as my wife has a meeting so I'll definately take some pix.  Oh and all the carbon fiber is a factory option. It's really high end stuff.  Not an overlay or a cover, the whole thing is made of CF.  Absurdly expensive (8k for the lip and diffuser) but incredibly light. The blades alone are 2/3 lighter. I'd be very curious to see how much weight is saved when you add up the lip/blade/diffuser/sill/interior parts/mirrors.
Oh and I forgot to mention, Ferrari is holding a track day at Sears Point this Friday.  I'm going to chat with the new owner and see if he will let my R8 on the track with his 430's.  I'm guessing no.

Sorry Oz, no on the LFA. I'll have the 458 by then. Ack, truck driver called me an hour ago, he was just north of Santa Barbara.  "Uh, you know you can drive over 30 MPH right?"  "Ha, no sir, I ran into some difficulties. Our gas light doesn't seem to be working. Normally it goes on and I have another 50 Miles but this time it just went dry on a hill.  I had to park it then have the diesel cleared out of the fuel line (no idea why but ohhh kay) and am just now on the road again".  Anyways, he's dropping it off at my office at 8:00.  I'm sure I'll be driving it till. . oh noon or so.  Heh.

OK, HERE WE GO.  Now, I'm no photographer and this was off a point and shoot so don't flame me. I also didn't get a full pic of the full car because I'm a moron and I'd do it now but I'm going out for. . . a drive what else!  








I'll get more shots after lunch.  Other r8 site wanted shots of the carbon fiber so that's why I concentrated on that.  Sorry for the crud pix.  I'm off for a drive.  Now the big question is will my Ferrari guys let me drive on the track with them tomm. or are they going to insist I bring a Ferrari to the track.
