wait I thought punching the car in 6th was the only way to tap into the flux capacitor and reach top speeds past light speed all the way to ludicrous speed?  no?

and then I thought that putting your hand on wheel at the 12 position while leaning way to the right was the best way to navigate turns?

damn I have been doing this all wrong.... Grin

really, really nice car.  I love seeing them drive by here.  Love the extra carbon...all factory stuff?  damn nice.  would pick different wheels but that is a very minor thing on this beaut...

Nobody will admit to being bad at two things: Sex and Driving.  But clearly some are better at things then others so someone must be bad at it.  So my friend is driving back and is coming about 2 inches from the right wheel when he makes a right turn and I'm cringing in the passenger seat. Then of course his idea of "checking the engine" out is. . . wait for it. . . presses the accelerator to the floor at 60 mph in 6th gear.  Shift to 5th? Nope Why is he in 6th not 4th in the first place? No idea.  "wow this thing is fast" How the hell would you know, it barely moved because you are two off from the right gear and didn't downshift.  Why not turn the radio on while opening the windows and tell me how great the stereo is. And his control of the car, good god.  Grips the steering wheel like it's death with of course one hand at the 12 position (ugh).

ROFLOL!  I could picture exactly that one hand turn thing!

Great looking car.  It's been nice the couple days in the bay area to enjoy the car.

Have fun.

Ammusing review
I wonder what your friend drives
Down-shifting to 5th, haha
I drop to 3dr if i'm below 80mph
Anything below 50mph i sometimes go for 2nd if i really need to get going/pass

335i convertable?
No, thanks
Verts are not my thing
especially now, with the kid
Besides robbed "utility" it weighs about 300lb more
handling is not great either comparing to coupe

it is a great vert though for the money

I might have to switch to grand tourismo or X6 in a couple of yrs
I really like those
or vision concept if it ever makes it to production

You mean that 5 series thing?  (I think they called it a granturismo which doesn't make too much sense given that's italian and I'm not sure how or why a hatchback 5series qualifies as a GT)  It's pretty uh interesting looking (I'm not a huge fan but reserve judgement till I see one).  I'd have to see one in person.  I actually wrote about my buddies 335i a while backs.  Loved the car, excellent transmission.  Turbos were great I recall as well.  Liked the steering, hated the stereo hated the electronics, chasis was very nice and the road grip feel was very nice.  People are really down on the x6 design but I think I disagree.  I think it's a good looking car. To each his own I guess.

GT (gran turismo) is perfect for my needs
It has more luxurious interior than current X5/6 or 5 series
It has more room than either of those (almost as much as 7-series)
It has utility of X6, because of the hatch
It has power of V8 TT (400HP) and cool tech for suspension and handling
It's gonna be great vehicle and perfect kids hauler, or simply nice performance/luxury car with extra utility when you need it

So i'm kind of torn between X6 and GT
One has more Uti, but less lux and performance, but AWD

You could do what I did, get one for each purpose.  Highlander my wife drives with kids, 3 rows blah blah, M6 I drive and pass off when I take the kids.

It's an idea, but i dont want to have extra car for just certain things

Heh heh, you could go nuts and get the M version of the X6.  That thing is outrageous.  As a set aside, (and yet another rant from me) what is with people that are slaves to Dyno charts.  Having owned quite a few exotics, do people realize that unless you are on a track or seriously modifying your car to do the 1/4 mile or something then all these dyno curves mean next to nothing.  I mean, truly, there is very little difference getting to 60 on the on ramp between say the M3 or M6 or the 335i for that matter.  Also, the F430 or the Gallardo or the A8V10 or the ZR1.  My brother is like "Yeah but doesn't the LP-560 get to sixty faster and have 10 more HP with the same engine?".  Uh yeah. . . if you are a professional driver redlining the thing and firing off from the pits into the first straightaway.  Other than that, it's all about feel of the car, design, steering, comfort.  Now Oz and Ohm with the 1/4 mile times?  Now THEN I understand checking those stats and working on the engine to get it to go faster.  For guys taking the occasional drive and very occasionally hitting the track?  Get the best car for your taste and for goodness sake, learn to drive it!
